At Picnic Point Preschool & Childcare Centre, we view all children as individuals and are guided by the Early Years Learning Framework (ELFY) to provide high-quality programs that support each child’s learning and development holistically.
Competently network parallel products with market-driven total linkage. Holisticly formulate mission-critical communities before B2B web-readiness. Conveniently predominate collaborative strategic theme areas through ubiquitous "outside the box" thinking. Distinctively engage multidisciplinary internal or "organic" sources rather than interoperable action items. Synergistically architect customized infrastructures with synergistic value. Objectively incentivize superior functionalities.
For children under 2 years, having opportunities to actively use their 5 senses to explore the world through ‘sensory play’ is a crucial aspect of their healthy development. Sensory play is beneficial for brain development, supports motor skills development, promotes language development, and provides opportunities for problem-solving. This means that in our nursery room, your child will be offered a wide range of sensory experiences to discover and delight in as they play and learn with our nurturing educators.
We understand that toddlers are intrinsically inquisitive, and our educators provide an environment that sparks curiosity and wonder. The toddler years are a time of rapid brain development, so in this room your child is provided with an abundance of opportunities to exert their independence and to be innovative problem solvers as they develop strong dispositions for learning.
The toddler years are also a time where language skills are quickly progressing, and our toddler program allows for many opportunities to grow these skills. Through the use of songs, nursery rhymes, action games and music - children will strengthen their phonological awareness skills which form the foundation of all literacy development.
According to Gardner’s theory of multiple intelligence (1983), every individual has different kinds of intelligence. This means that every child has something special to offer with their own individual talents, personality traits and abilities. As educators, we know that learning occurs best in social settings, so in our preschool program your child will engage in a wide variety of experiences that are designed to unlock their potential for complex thinking and learning.
A strong focus within our preschool program is literacy and numeracy development. Literacy skills are developed as children learn to express themselves in a wide variety of ways and ask questions. Numeracy skills are developed when children explore mathematical ideas and engage in problem-solving. Our educators provide experiences that intentionally foster the development of both literacy and numeracy skills to extend and enrich each child’s learning and development in preparation for school and life.
